Check those fuel lines at the fuel pump and at the fuel tank sender to body. Could be leaking and evaping before dripping on ground......... :eek:

Drop in an HEI, and convert your tach to electronic. Many good HEI units avail. If budget concerns, purchase a used HEI dist and tach, rebuild dist. :chevy

Get a test lamp and check the fuse panel. If nothing there, go check the 'fusible links' at the starter.
If you're getting some pwr at fuse pnl, then check all fuses. :chevy

I planned to replace my spindles with new ones, so after remvl, I took an old spindle to a machine shop and had them create a 'slip fit' spindle for a set-up tool....

You can use the 61A guts for rebld, and use the 42A case and rotor as this will give you a 61A alt.
You should mark inside the case as to what you've done, so future rebuilders won't freakout. ...
