I presume that the mystery ridge on the sprocket triggers the sensor you mentioned to show cam position.

My logic was new chain, new sprockets. From what you say it won't make any...

I agree with Chris, Interesting in what way. Typical HP for C5 LS1 is 300+- at the rear wheels stock. '01 Z06 around 340+- stock and '02 Z06 350+- at the rear wheels. Numbers lines up pretty well....
