Happened on my 75. the little spring at the top of the lock mechanism was broken in half. Used a screwdriver down the window to unlock the door and replaced the spring.

I have the old ones packed as they came out, so I will start at that width and work my way back cause the new bushings are poly, and a big improvement on the old ones!...

Ditto on the Diff Additive!
If you can get hold of a real ezy to use siphon, changing the oil and additive is the best first thing to try, takes about an hour and could well fix your noise.

Whoops, forgot the other bit!
If the shifter console lamp is staying on when you replace the fuse then SOMEHOW you have that lamp wired to the Courtesty Light/Clock fuse link!!
