I don't see any problems from your description. There might have been some "fallout" in the rain. Try washing using a good car wash soap and see what happens.

Try using a claybar on the wheels. It will remove brake dust, etc. very well. But don't use the claybar after using it on the wheels - brake dust is very abrasive and will be embedded in the clay....
