Since you have to run a wire in the car. I ended up wiring my new stop light wire all the way to the column and added connectors so I could swap back to stock if I ever wanted to

There is a way to check codes but the procedure is in the Factory Service Manual which I don't have with me at the moment. That is the only way I know to check the CCM.
