Most groups that put on a car show are required to obtain a type of Insurance just for accidents than can and do happen. I would also make contact with those that sponsored the show or the Property...

Powerglide clunk

Is the clunk/noise/jerking when you leave from a stop and it shifts up? Does it sound like a real "clunk"?

If the numbers really are there but very light and hardly readable....clean and dry the area good and use some chalk to try and highlight the numbers.

trip meter

Mine works now. I replaced the whole unit for a rebuilt one. I was told the plastic gear wears out for the trip meter. :eek:

"Legally", you can not register or put a '65 plate on your '65 Corvette, unless it had the black Calif. plate issued to the car prior to 1972. A Calif '65 plate would be the black plate/gold...

Yes, I retained the stock PG shifter. A new plate with the shift pattern is available also that fits in place of the old one.

I am being told that just about ALL 56's had the "V" in the VIN number on the Title, but not on the VIN plate. And, this was an error by GM, a carry over from 55. Can any other 56 owners...

In my 66 SB, I went from the powerlessglide to 4 speed automatic w/OD, 700R4 trans. The best upgrade I could have ever done, a terrific transmission and I now love driving the car... :D...

VEry nice 64. Welcome to the Mid-year Auto Trans club. I recently swapped out the old 2spd PG for a 700R4 trans in my 66 roadster, and have no regrets. :D
