1985 Scrambled Dash

The dash on my C4 will occasionally become scrambled. I was able to get a video of it when it was especially bad.

Just did that, it shows the same voltage that I've been seeing throughout the line.



That shows me 3.4 ohms from terminal to terminal measured at the prongs on top of the compressor.

I'm looking at the wiring diagram for the AC Circuity in my '85's FSM. Those are the labeled grounds for this stretch of wire.

I put 12v to the terminal on top of the compressor and didn't have any action from it. I'll look closer at that to see if the compressor itself is the issue.

Alternator Bat+ wire [1985]

I'm Replacing the alternator on my stock '85. I Busted off the metal piece that screws from the bat cable to the alternator.

A good idea... i'll test the regulator myself. Napa told me the voltage was maxing at 15.6. I don't know if thats good or bad. I thought the voltage regulator was supposed to max the output at ~14.7....
