smooth

120 for about five minutes or so and 100 for about 20 min or half and hour. Felt as stable at 120 as at 50. I was impressed, was on a good highway though, also got a ticket!!!:ack:

Maybe this

It is possible the light and the socket connectors are some what dirty, rusty, corroded. This will cause a high resistance that becomes a hot-spot. I have had this happen on another car and it MIGHT...

Why heat wrap causes rust

If the exhaust is hot howcome I read from people that heat wrap on headers, etc. causes rust? Why would moisture remain to cause rust???:willy:

Why not use the goop they have for the marker lights, etc. I don't know what it is but it keeps bulbs from corroding and they still light up.

Still most likely the problem is the filter. Erratic is most common but your symptoms can also be from bad or loose connection.

Yes it is a vacuum connector, No I did not see one when I did mine a few weeks ago either. Try all your dash controls and see what does not work anymore, that should tell you what it goes to???:willy:

I bought my converter from Howard's Torque Converters in Salt Lake City for $350.00. Fuddle racing in Salt Lake City sells his converters too and have a web-site with some info. Howard's builds them....

Could very well be brake caliper piston.

I once had a caliper piston stick in my jeep wagoneer I think it was. Take a gallon of water with you and when it gets to "no-roll" cool it down with water and see if it works again. Otherwise take...

Probably not filter

If your tach is reading smooth but wrong rpm it is probably not the filter. PROBABLY not.
