To my knowledge 86's don't show a code, you have to run it through a scan at a shop. Or do they, if they do, please do tell where and how.

We did that, took the bulb out for the test, but was told it has to come on when the key is turned on and then go out, so because we had the bulb out it was an incomplete, now it is back in but it...

Turn off check engine light '86

My '86 passed CA smog with no problem but the check engine light stayed on and they won't clear it for DMV registration renewal.

Disconnected battery, still no luck. Any ideas.

Passed smog test fine BUT!!! because the check engine light stays on they will not clear it for DMV. Does ANYONE know how to turn the check engine light off?

Sorry you couldn't make it out there today, the band rocked! They will be back out there in September.
