Don't know what it might be called but it's purpose is to enable the knob to turn the shaft. It holds at the flat spot on the shaft. Without it the knob would just rotate freely. :hide:

Good Luck! I've had the windshield replaced on my 2007 vert 3 times. Never have been able to get the glass company to install OEM. Be certain you note to the insurance company the car has heads up...
