The 81 is a E4me carb Computer controlled. Very basic computer control. I don't think it will work correctly on a 80. Some with more knowledge will comment I am sure.

I have a oil temp gauge on my 81 and it works. The temp will go up when running at highway speeds 70 MPH.

I used a Summit-1103 cam and lifter set in a 1981...

I used a Summit-1103 cam and lifter set in a 1981 Stock engine and also changed the Dist. and Carb. Got rid of the Computer. This cam has a nice lope to it and is very streetable. Good Luck.

Had a problem with pulling to the left when braking with C3 1981. The harder you braked the harder it pulled. Was thinking must be a caliper or pads. Well the problem turned out to be the rubber hose...

If you use other than a stock 81 carb you will need to change the Distrubutor as well. Lars does not rebuild the stock 81 carbs. The E4ME .

I just sent my Left rear bearing assembly to Van Steel for a swap. They did an OUTSTANDING job on the bearing assembly. It was about $300 plus a $200 core charge.

I had the same problem and new control arm bushing solved my problem. Got a 4 wheel alignment and it is like she is on rails now.
