Most feel a 383 needs a hi-rise dual plane intake, which will require a new BB hood and drastically increases the price of the build. You could limit the engine and put a low rise and loose HP.

Why not get rid of the AIR system all together? Unless you're in CA where you need to have it. Classics in MD don't even need an inspection. Free up some more power!

I've got a leaky front driver caliper with DOT 5 fluid. Any thoughts on staying with DOT 5? Or going to DOT 5.1? Or go back to DOT 4? Thoughts? FYI, I'm leaning towards O ring calipers regardless.

No, no.... It was fine for 37 years. It's where the head mounts to the base. There's a spline/friction fit thing going on. May RTV a dot for good measure.

Thanks for the kind words. I made it worth my while and bought the missing air dam and hardware plus the $11 mirror. That way, the price equals a new mirror.

I'm pretty sure there is/was one that tied into the bumper brackets. My Mom had one on one of her Vette's back in the 70's. Not sure the rating, but for a bike trailer it should be fine.

I was pretty careful and can see distinct layers of paint, primer, then chrome. A duller silver looks alot better than just the paint. I'll snap a pic tonight. A improvement nun the less.
