When I had my C5 Z06, I had the same thing. Grease in the rear wheel.

What we found was a razor type cut on the boot near the metal clip that could not even be seen. :ack:

I've installed a new battery, and it fired right up.

I took the old battery back for the core...

Tell them to do a 4 wheel alignment and center the steering wheel.

If you don't tell them to center the steering wheel, it will probably be off center after the alignment.
