Storage for more then a year

Calling all stored winter guys.

I live in Michigan, usually I take my car out in May and put it back in storage in November. Storage to me is in my garage, car on wood ramps with carpet, with...

Anyone store their Vette with Gojaks?

Hello,

Quick question for everyone, has anyone stored their Vette on GoJaks or any wheel dollies? I am considering the GoJaks due to need of moving the car in a direction I cannot drive it. I am...

Re: C6 passive entry/push button start (mapman)

I have driven an XLR and actually the real problem is this: If your standing near your car, your friend or some criminal can jump into your car and speed off and as long as he never shuts it off, he...

Re: What would your guys reaction be.... (collegekid)

As much as the mid engine layout was almost done in the 70's and as much as it was Zora's dream for the Vette to be Mid-engine AWD, I would argue today that, that layout is not a Corvette anymore. I...

Re: Year identification of a Corvette. (RPOZ25)

Only reason I put it here is because I wanted it to get a lot of traffic, after it was here about a week I posted in C1/C2, C3, C4, C5 general. I got some responses, but my original intention was...

Re: Year identification of a Corvette. (RPOZ25)

We need a member of the NCRS or a B.G. judge to give us insight into some of these questions. Anyone know one? I would love to hear more about '56 - '57 and '70 - '71 - '72, and also double check...

Re: What would you name the rumored "Blue Devil" Supervette? (2k2C5)

I know I'm going to get flamed for this, but all C2 Corvette's were "Corvette Sting Ray" and all '69 to '76 Corvette's were "Corvette Stingray". Now which one do you call it? Seems to me that...

Re: Year identification of a Corvette. (JoesC5)

Can you show me a pic of this? I know the roof has a clip looking thing on it, but it looks to be on all of them.

Re: Year identification of a Corvette. (lostsoulny)

Are you sure that is 2000, some here have thought that is 2001.

If we are sure about 2000, then we have that year nailed.

Re: Year identification of a Corvette. (Tony.96LT4)

You do have a point. One I did not think of honestly. I do believe you might be able to tell the difference between the painted black and plastic black if they let it get painted on the black cars...

Re: With the new caddy cts at 405hp The new c6 at only 400hp thats disappointing! (Jimmy O)

Two numbers matter:

Weight (lbs) / RWHP, and Weight (lbs) / RWTQ.

Those numbers with proper gearing tell the real story.

The Z06 has about 350 rwhp weighs 3130. Thats 8.9 lbs per real hp. ...

Re: F1 style shifter for C6? (Timmy's C5)

Quit reading Motor Trend, in a street race one of the cars is faster then the other, the milliseconds of the shift DO not matter. On the track the milliseconds of the shift DO not matter in...

Re: adaptive cruise control (2000 green hornet)

I had a lot of fun with it in a XLR. Very neat to be cruising at 85 and duck behind a semi going 65 without touching the brake. I doubt it will be on a Vette.

Re: 425 hp...no less (CALVette)

You know the '66 Vette with the 427 had the same amount of horsepower as the 396 too. I'm sure they didn't lie about it, or underrate that either.

Let's face it the current Cobra is underrated...

Re: Sat in an XLR today... (ivan111)

I have driven a XLR for about 150 miles. I have a C5, and I too notice the XLR to be smaller inside, most notably in terms of width between center console and door skin. I believe that the C6 will...

Re: Hope the handbrake is on the driver's side of the tunnel! (C6-XTSY)

Yes there is, I have a manual C5 and with the parking brake on it is hard to get in there. To be honest the center console lid in a C5 is not that great, it has a dual hinge that lets it raise up...

Re: Year identification of a Corvette. (mike76002)

Well, depends on how you have modified it, I put that this only is for factory correct cars. I have shocked some owners before, post a pic from every angle, including interior, and I will give it a...

Re: Year identification of a Corvette. (bub)

Hmmmmm. That is not complicating it, Mag wheels I don't think are a good way to tell a year anyway. One, there limited production compared to the other wheels, and two, you learn that what you...

Re: Will the C6 MN6 have CAGS????? (need-for-speed)

To respond to all, I have no problem with CAGS, I just live with it. My suggestion above about checking a yaw sensor to see if the car was in a corner was a suggestion to make CAGS better. No one...

Re: Pop-up headlights on C6? (74_LS-4)

I responded to a fixed light fan in another post with this, I know it is a :_dupe: , but I think it may shed light (no pun) on how us hidden light fans think. Here it is:

You are right, and I...

I took the post to be asking the chances of the Corvette convertible having a power hardtop a la a XLR.

Re: Will the C6 MN6 have CAGS????? (need-for-speed)

No, maybe we know how to do it, maybe we can jack up our cars. Maybe we don't like putting aftermarket parts on our cars. Maybe we have been Corvette fans for a long time, maybe long enough to...
