Good advice from all........runs like a champ now......no problems.
It was the float .....flooding it out.

Hi John,
It is the correct replacement on a L79. Purchased from Jegs........I had it installed last October. This is what it does....I started it as always with no problems.......it ran at idle...

What a piece of junk.......what recommendations do you guys have...I just want a way more reliable carburator.....so that I can keep the stock air cleaner.......What makes me mad is that this thing...

The story is......Newly rebuilt L79 to factory specs.......NEW Holey carb.....
Has been running GREAT........today I start it up and it dies after a few seconds.......then it floods fuel all over...

I am taking it to David Bagwell to have him find a couple of leaks left over from the rebuild .......I'll have him give a look at it.
He he can't solve it I'll take you up on the offer!

How do you know your carb is new? Your post makes me nervous about the strategy of getting a new one tht is no better than mine which was made in 72 but not used until last year.
