Mobil 1 synthetic is a very good gear lube and is less expensive.

Synthetics flow better into tight spaces (i.e. bearings) when cold,
as well as withstanding heat better without breaking down.

Rebuilding the entire rear, took the glass spring out,
the rubber pads above and below are in poor shape.
The bottom came out in 2 pieces.

Found out the lower hose connection on the new one
comes off the tank then turns up parallel with the core.

The old one pointed somewhat away, it points...
