Both problems turned out to be caused by faulty sensors. $100 for the TPMS sensor and installation and $10 for the OAT sensor.

Look along the bottom edge of the knee bolster. There are two holes for sheet-metal screws there. One or both of the screws is missing. Should be easy to see.
