I bought it because it was AWD and had 4 seats yet was a sports car. Only other car similar for the money was a GTR or less sports car like an RS5. There is nothing else so there IS a reason.

I think it boils down to an expensive "normal" car, whether it is a truck, suv (escalade/tahoe), or lux car (merc/bmw/cadi) is still considered practical and a normal car. And looks relatively civil....
