C1 spiral shocks

I removed what appears to be a very nice set of spiral shocks from my 1960. the part number says they are 53-62, the date code looks like 112 85. anyone know what the date is? I don't need them...

annoying convert top rear bow pins

Every time I hit a bump the pins pop out of the retainers. I tried new pins and adjusted them longer and shorter but can't find the sweet spot where the pins will stay put. Any ideas for a cure?

I've had good success using a drum brake...

I've had good success using a drum brake adjusting tool. Go slow and easy and work your way around the cover. Don't apply to much force so as to avoid deforming the cover.

when you adjusted the #4 lifter did it quiet down for a short period of time? Ask your rebuilder if he installed new rocker arms and nuts, I've had worn rocker arm nuts that wouldn't hold adjustment...

Does the car have the stock ignition shielding? I developed a miss/vibration in my 60. I found the coil was arcing against the distributor cover. I removed the cover and the miss/vibration went away....
