I would not suggest putting a cover on it. Unless the car is clean, it will potentially leave fine scratches in the paint. Being outside isn't ideal, but cars are certainly designed to endure that...

I think you missed the part where the 8 speed auto can upshift faster than a Porsche PDK. Granted, there's a lot more to a good transmission than upshift speed, but the fact that they're benchmarking...
