defective oil pressure relief valve in C7 Z51

I have now had two separate occurrences where the low oil pressure, turn off ignition warning light has come on and my engine was completely fried, meaning burnt bearing and total engine replacement....

The reason I asked is because I'm new to this and at first I didn't know there was such a thing as courtesy delivery. I suspect many folks who pay over MSRP are also unaware of this option.
