I did a 69 Camaro a few years ago. I replaced most of the sheetmetal. I always said the car was made in Taiwan. came out great with those parts. I know how you feel though.

thanks everyone for the ideas. the problem was intermittent is why I thought it was electrical. I tried to run the car tonight and it was still running poor. easy to diagnose things when it broken...
