Possibly the ignition switch. My understanding is these switch contacts go bad and can cause instrument cluster problems.

for true square setup, 315, 30 18 will fit nicely all around, you may need to go with 1/4" spacers in the rear, depends on the car and tire brand. 305 would likely be fine with no spacers.
