dads L79 runs like really bad on 89, but 93 runs fine. but sounds like timing is off. unless your widget is breaking up or your cap/ rotor/ wires/ plugs are bad

Make sure the nuts and bolts holding the carbs on a tight. Use a mighty vac and pull a vacuum on the vacuum advance and see if it holds.

Has the car been restored/ off the frame? If not look at the fuel line by the pump. The rear end u joints has cast caps, rear sway bar The tach is the same as the L79.
