I believe this is normal... The Crux unit seems to only chime a single tone. The number of chimes seems to be what varies based on the situation (door open, locking etc).

Also, I used a crux socgm17c for connecting to the factory's harness.

Additionally, worth noting that I found FM reception to be awful when I installed the stereo....
