You might try changing the tranny fluid and filter. My 98 started slipping also, I did a fluid & filter change and it ran great.

i got a used T56 when I converted from 350/350TH to LS1/T56 for $1100, another couple hundred for TO bearing and clutch. Couldn’t be happier-lower end gearing also lower for sea of the pants...

Many do like the needle bearing over the solid bronze...

For my 79 LS1 swap I used stock lines like others here reported. Stock sender and external walbro pump mounted in rear, stock 79 tank w/bladder. I just ensure I don't run fuel level under 1/4 tank....
