Sorry for the big bang, I flip the nitrous switch off as soon as I cross the line . Have seen several flying hoods and laid over carbs from this same problem . Good Luck on the rest of the tear down.

Good tool, I made one when I ran nitrous I also used the same size jet I was running the system to make the back pressure and gauge give me the same readings as if I was going down the track.
