The 05 was a first year car for the C6 generation. It has it's new car problems were resolved by 2008. I think everyone choosing the 08 is correct.

Have you tied playing with the seat position controls to see if the noise changes with their activation? The only other thing I can think of in that vicinity would be the fuel pump.

Be glad you don't own a expensive European brand like Benz, BMW, etc. The are often overly complicated and groundbreaking and cost several times more to fix than your vette.

I run sports on a A6 car. I only notice exhaust sound when I am accelerating. It is quiet while cruising. No drone. I had Borla on a Z28 and the drone was horrible.
