OK, so the oil pump is a backup for the fuel pump relay. Thanks, folks.

Here's the problem. I have a 1996 CE, about 88k miles, the cursed distributor system was replaced this past spring...

I've heard that it does, but it does not indicate that in my GM manual. It only says that the oil pressure sender unit will...
