Definitely drive it! I've driven mine to Iowa twice (from Texas). We love to drive these cars, so if you have the time just go for it! And you are saving money.

My trips were 12 hours each...

Forgot to latch the roof after a nice morning without it on... Once I hit about 40 mph off it flew! I was lucky in that there was nobody else immediately...

I hear you about the dust on the rear of the car. I haven't even driven on gravel yet and after a few drives out on the highway it will be covered in dirt/dust from road debris/brake dust etc. :ack:
