What are some interesting, elegant options for the gauge/shifter plate for a 69?

I don't love the polished aluminum look and the wood grain doesn't suit my vette. I might just stick with black...

Would it be safe to assume that after-market seats suited to a Fiero would also fit in a 69 Vette (perhaps with some clever mounting)?

If not, what more-comfortable-than-stock seats have you had...
