When you say crank ... what do you mean. Does the engine turn over??? Or is the car just dead. Because if the engine turns over then I would think your alternator is OK. You obviously have juice...

I also was told by a tranny shop NOT to power flush because it was had for the seals of something??? Not too many tranny shops carry the power flush machines out here. Seem like just the quick qil...

Surging Idle

Ok heres the scoop. Yesterday when I arrived at work I noticed at idle that the car would surge like ... drop to 480 RPM and then up to 800 RPM. No codes.

Today on the way to work same thing at...

Oh I do check the gapping definitely but I leave them at .045.

My question is now ... If the box says do not re gap and to leave at .045 ... how many of you ignore that and re gap to the factory...

Thanks for the reply. I know the specs for my '85 says spark plug gap should be .035 but the Rapidfires require a gap of .045. I think I was told that this was because they are a hotter plug. ...

What do you mean gap them??? They are supposedly gapped at the factory for your application and the box specifically says ... 'DO NOT RE-GAP."

I originally bought Chiltons and Haynes because the are inexpensive but ... if ya want the best get Helms which is the factory manual.
