They replaced the whole machine. One stop working after a couple of years, they sent me a new one and it didn't work right out of the box, sent a third one so far no problems.

They come with a very flat skinny wrench that you stick in between the pad & the polisher. Hold the pad with one hand turn the wrench with the other. Most grinders are the same way.

Can't go wrong with Griots, the have a lifetime guarantee on their machines ( ask Fryarms ). I also used to be an Adams guy but made the switch, Adams doesn't seem the same since Adam sold it.
