It's not. Don't worry, I replaced my computer distributor and carb off my 81 a while ago and didn't have to do anything with the transmission. You will be fine

thanks for all the advice. I don't plan on driving it in the rain, and won't even be driving to the track with the tires on, I'll most likely be putting them on when I get there.

I have the 4150 and my fuel rail is similar to the original one you showed. I am no expert, but am using one filter after the pump before the rail and haven't had an issue either.

I am looking to swap the ring and pinion gears in my 81 to 3.54:1. I see one of the Corvette only parts suppliers sell a ring and pinion set for it, but I was looking at some performance sites also....
