The steps would be the same. No need to remove the oil pan. Just remove the front cover and you'll have access to remove the oil pump. Just be careful when you remove the 10mm oil pump pickup tube...

You've got to have faith... you went 10.8 with about 70 extra pounds on the nose of the car. Skinnies alone will give you .1-.2. If you can go a mid to low 1.5, I think you'll go the 10.5x.
