GM bought me a new engine because of a failed pump

'99 LS1

Zero to 5 psi upon startup, stable at about 9 psi at idle. They dicked around with it for 100 miles of 'testing' before they scored the mains. Engine had ~15k on it.

Relief valve stuck...

I switched to the Firestone runflats and put 25k on them with even treadwear across the face....

GM replaced the engine in my '99 because of a faulty pressure relief valve in the pump body.

Let me rephrase that. Dealer insisted there was nothing wrong with the pump and drove it...
