I had to add an Edelbrock heat insulator gasket between my Edelbrock EPS carb and Edelbrock 1406 carb. It was hard to start after it was hot , and this solved the problem. It is something to consider...

drop base air cleaner

What make and model of drop base air cleaner is best for a 1979 with an Edelbrock carb ? I have to add the heat spacer, and the stock dual snorkel probably won't fit anymore. thanks.

I have a 79 also and I run an EPS intake with an Edelbrock 1406 carb with the stock dual snorkel air cleaner. I had to put a short Spacer in between the carb and air cleaner for it to work.
