Thanks for the replies but problem solved. I wasn't sure if it was weldable so I took it to the shop today and put the MIG to it. Welded nicely.

The straps work great with a hoist or cherry picker. The front end is a little heavy though so if you hang something when you begin to pull it off and move it, it can tilt the front to the ground....
