Should I change the fluids in my car now. It's been 12 years with the same fluids.
And why, do they break down? And what happens if I don't change them?

Same thing here. But the next time all is fine. The tires are fine. Next time I need tires I'll have the TPMS changed.
Run flat tires, so not concerned.
