yes they are terrible for this; I remember trying to buy a C6 GS there, they wanted something like $200 for nitrogen in the tires… I asked them to drain it and put in regular air LoL 😂

Sixth gear is basically a double overdrive gear so yes it lugs the engine. Generally though the stock LS7 has so much low end torque it still picks up speed at WOT in sixth gear at 60 MPH.

For the use you describe its not needed. These clutches are surprisingly durable and maintenance of the fluid (search for the "ranger" method) will bring them back to life more times than you think....
