Air Conditioner

Is it possible that you are low on freon? If system is low, AC shuts itself off to prevent damage. Just something else to check. Joe :chevy :chevy :chevy

Re: I know we've done this before (CFI-EFI)

I did some further checking and I guess the wheel bearing is the problem. I turned the wheel bearing and it did seem to make a noise. It was looser than I had noticed before. Anybody know where I...

I have been having some noise coming from the rear of my 85 Corvette for quite some time and decided to tear into it! The noise sounded kinda like a u-joint on the left rear and it would clang when...

I don't know about your 89, but my 85 lights can be unplugged. I usually keep mine unplugged until I need them. Joe :chevy :chevy

Re: How in the heck do i get this hood to open!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (azzkikr)

I'd almost be tempted to do away with the latches and install hood pins. Had 'em on several cars I've owned.

The left wheel on my 85 sticks out also. Mine had been in a slight accident . I finally found a wheel and tire combination that did not stick out as much (Firestone Firehawk) and I put a...

Corvette windshield

Some time ago I asked the forum if I should try replacing the windshield myself or having it installed by a pro. Most agreed that I should have it done instead of tackling it myself. I was...

Re: Body Repair Material Recommendations? (cheap vet)

When I repaired the rear fender on my 85, I used regular polyester resin and fiberglass with a little Bondo over it and it seemed to turn out ok. :chevy :chevy

Re: After market cd player question/help (chuck89)

I changed my 85 over to a Kenwood with Pioneer speakers; wasn't too difficult and didn't have to replace the wires. Just use the wires that went to the Bose speakers and tape off the other two. ...

Re: Torque Convertor Lock-up...Need Help (Lone Ranger)

Just a thought, we once had an Oldsmobile that wouldn't lock up the converter until a certain engine operating temperature had been reached. If you have a low temp thermostat you might check that....

Re: urgent. my car won't start (tophorse)

Sounds like you need to time your engine. Put your finger in the number 1 spark plug hole and have a friend turn the engine over a little at a time until you feel compression then turn the engine to...

My 85 has all different brands on it front to back and side to side. I don't notice any handling problems with it. I intend to keep them until they are worn out, then I'll consider buying wheels...

Re: Aftermarket stereo- wiring questions (1STVETTE90)

Hi! I think you can look on "installdoctor.com". I think that's where I looked when I installed my Kenwood in my 85 Vette. They were very helpful. Joe :chevy :chevy

Re: how to do a 10" sub install and keep it all hidden (gtsyellow)

Re: Alignment Question: caster out of spec. (ROME)

I think the darting back and forth on uneven pavement is just part of owning a car with very wide tires. My 85 was really hard to get used to when I first bought it. Mine is especially bad on roads...

Re: Loud creaking noise from rear wheel. (vader86)

It doesn't appear to me that you can grease any of the wheel bearings on a C4. If it needs a new wheel bearing, Delcos work just fine, but they are also the most expensive. I bought mine at Advance...

Re: My 86 keeps draining the battery. (jan-erik)

If your battery is discharging rapidly, like overnight, one of my first places to look would be the alternator. Even if it will charge to battery while the engine is running you could have a short...
