I do that for a living! SEM is the way to go, although I source my vinyl paint locally. Use a HVLP gun so you don't waste much. And clean with alcohol, as it's all in the prep.

Probably, but call backs cost money, and I don't want to take the risk. And I've had no issues with this method, but a few without etch primer. Plus, customers and groomers are impatient....

7T1 is right, also, use an etch primer first, otherwise your paint will come off just by looking at it! Got bitten on the backside big time by not doing that on a job.

My new ones were too curved. Took them off and bent them with a heat gun from behind. They sit a lot better now. Don't know what brand they are, as they came with the car.

I'd repair and respray them myself. Loosen off the screws and pull out slightly, mask up, and blast with some SEM Colorcoat matched to your silver interior. New interior parts can be hard to fit...

Thanks Ike. It's a heat activated one I get from my supplier in Auckland, NZ. It's the consistancy of an ointment. I just sprayed the repair area. Subaru dashes are notorious for going bad.

Ok. Grounding out the sender wire with the key on shows a no ground reading. Using my multimeter, I got a reading of 14.3v between the power terminal and ground on both the plug and the gauge....
