I'd steer clear of motor swaps like the 455 for your own sanity... lots of stupid little problems will arise and you won't gain that much more than if you stroked a L98 or LT1 350.

Cool to hear thats all it was - I knew the problem had to do with excessive torque on the serpentine belt, but wouldn't have guessed the compressor reacted that way to too much freon.
