my 04 Z06 was 405hp at the crank, as advertised....the base 09 430hp at the crank. the Z outperformed the 09 C6, in a way that wasn't even close. the dealer knew what i was talking about as he also...

i traded in my 04 Z06 for an09 base vette, 04 was rated 405hp and the 09 was 430hp. the 09 was a complete dog compared to the Z06, so i went back to the dealer and told him if the 09 was over 300hp...

if they just replaced the outer torque tube, they would have had to take the old one apart and remove the propeller shaft, bearings, and rubber couplers, and install those parts in the new torque...
