I read that on some cars you need to properly position the steering shaft before installing it in else the airbag could malfunction. Do c4s need this done or can I just pop in a new column and hook...

Ok I did it!! I just pried around the silver ring (the one with the pin in the middle) and then just took some wire cutters and just snapped the ring off. Steering column is now able to be removed....
