Why did you not just replace the membran with a new one instead of fixing the one in the car?
Should the be continuity when pushing your finger on any part of the membran?

Go to Rhino glue web sight and order the kit.
As I said, you will need another person to help if you don't use all the suction cups and pullys.
Be sure a raise the front up a little to take...

I just replaced the sending unit and have a couple of tips.
No need to remove the front clamp to the filter. Just remove the hose and clamp at the thottle body and prop up with a block of wood....
