I wonder how the hooker heartbeat that maintains the NPP sounds compared to the muffler mod. It seems to be pretty much the same thing.

Mine was a vacuum leak. The grommet at the brake booster had a large tear in it. Easy fix but still confirmed with a DIY smoke tester. If you are having the same thing it very well could be a leak...
