We use the HTS-2000 rods w/good results...an air operated high speed die grinder to wire brush the joint to get it super clean...DON'T overheat the joint during the brazing process.

If you're talking about the chrome knob to open the door, it's threaded on...Just turn it counterclockwise to remove! If tight, spray near the shaft with "rust buster" and allow it to soak a bit.
