I have Photos of my motor in my albulms. The air gap fit fine. But i do have a Holley 750 and you are probably correct the Edelbrock would not of fit.

different grades

I did my carpet a few years back and if my memory serves me correctly there are different grades of 3M. I didn't have any issues with the second can I bought but due believe I had to up grade.

Rpm airgap fit

It fit under my hood with a drop down breather and 2" filter. Just in case anyone out there was thinking of making the change. Its alot better than the Torker 2 I was running.
