Re: Dead Battery? (Pete Toemmes)

That is EXACTLY what mine is doing. Seeing as how the warranty is in it's final days, I'm going to give Chevy a call and see if they can come out and fix it in my garage (I'd hate to have to get it...

Re: Dead Battery? (my67vette)

Thanks! I forgot about the prorated aspect batteries. I'm pretty sure my cables are the heavy, stranded wire variety, but I'll check when I get home. I had it hooked to a 2002 Mazda Tribute 6 cyl,...

Re: Dead Battery? (rdochterman)

Thanks for the inputs. :D I've actually had it jumpered to one of my other cars (running) for over 10 minutes, and still couldn't get anything but that 'click-click'. I'll buy an Optima if I can't...

Re: Dead Battery? (c5chris)

I must have a different problem, or maybe I didn't let it charge long enough. I'm trying to jump start it with another car. My cables are clean (I keep the engine and wiring as spotless as I can) -...

Dead Battery?

I go on vacation for a few weeks and come back to find we finally got a REAL winter up here. I forgot to remove the negative cable from my battery before I left, and of course, now the Vette won't...

Re: Opinions on Alpine CDA-7998 for a C5 (Hernan)

I bought an Alpine CD head for my old Mustang about 7 years ago. 3 years later the radio preset buttons stopped working. I thought it was a fluke. Then about 2 years ago I bought a cheaper Alpine...

Re: Passport 8500 Problems (BQuicksilver)

The issue I have is that all of these detectors give false alarms. The arrows help me figure out if I'm picking up a building's alarm system or something I should worry about.
Having said that, for...

Re: Passport 8500 Problems (BQuicksilver)

No prob
I am still using the head unit because I couldn't figure out how to route the cord through the center console (I have the CD and dual climate stuff so it's crowded in there). I...

Re: Passport 8500 Problems (BQuicksilver)

BQuicksilver - I would definitely recommend the V1. It IS more expensive, but to me, the arrows alone are worth the extra 100.00. I've taken to simply removing the Passports when the car will be...

Re: Passport 8500 Problems (Randy K)

I have a different though complaint with the 8500. I own 2 of these things and 1 V1. I use the suction cups to attach them to the windshield. When left hanging in the sunlight, the little nipples...

Re: best radar detector (Gearhead Jim)

Ah, and the little lightbulb in my head goes off...

I have to commute past a county fuel depot. Lots of school buses with the strobe light on top. That's what set off the 8500. A bus was nearby...

Re: best radar detector (dogboy)

I have a V1 in my vette, and 8500's in the wife's car and my 'other' car. The V1 is a couple of years old, but it does seem large, heavy and dated next to the 8500. Having said that... I prefer...

window toe-in tool req.

Hi
I've been trying to adjust the toe-in of my drivers side window for some time. The GM manual calls out a #6 inverted torx wrench as the only tool required. It is obvious that other tools are...
